Rose City Wrestling Presents: Chapter 37
2019 Lilith Morgan Memorial Cup Night One
November 10th, 2019
McMenamin’s Crystal Ballroom
Portland, Oregon
The stream begins with a tribute video of Lilith Morgan, showcasing highlights of her career, and a slideshow of candid, backstage pictures.
After the video ends, the scene transitions to a rowdy, sold out crowd in the Crystal Ballroom, and the tournament participants walk out, and encircle the ring, followed by Stacy DeVille carrying the cup, and the Queen of Roses towards the ring. The scene transitions to Kaho Sugiyama holding a large photo of Lilith Morgan in the ring.
Stacy gives a speech, thanking the crowd for being in attendance, and supporting the return of Rose City Wrestling. She thanks Kaho Sugiyama, the first winner of the Tournament, for being in attendance, and makes note of the absence of the second winner, but thanks Blaise Fader for her contributions to Rose City, and congratulates her on winning the second tournament. Stacy then announces a donation fund at the merch section, for Blaise Fader’s medical bills and encourages as many people to donate as possible. The crowd erupts in a “We Love Blaise” Chant.
DeVille then introduces the competitors for the tournament, one by one. Notable cheers for Izzy Van Doren, Lowri Moss, and JET Representative Azumi Goto, while notable boos come down on Annie Zellor, Emevlas Stastias and surprisingly, Kristina von Doom

Earlier Today...
“Here we are…” says Annie Zellor as she leads Mary-Jane McCracken into the Crystal Ballroom. With her arms extended out to her side, Zellor twirls on the spot, soaking in the atmosphere of the historic locale, with its grand chandeliers, murals, and wide floor-to-ceiling arched windows. With this being pre-recorded, neither are dressed to wrestle, and are instead wearing their leather jackets, jeans, and beanie hats.
Now that they’ve finally arrived on the weekend of the third annual Lilith Morgan Memorial Cup, Annie seems intent on putting the last show behind her now. Because this weekend is what she’s been looking forward to ever since she stepped foot back in a Rose City ring— since that night back in September when she laid out Angie Vaughn…
When she stood in that ring and told the former Queens of Roses that she’d go through them all if needed, just to get what she wants.
When Annie told the World that she’d become the next Queen of Roses.
And it doesn’t matter if it’s Angie Vaughn or Lowri Moss, Chance Kennedy or Azzy Vebbins, Q or Izzy Van Doren, or even Kristina Von Doom herself— it doesn’t matter who’s standing across the ring from Annie, because over the course of two nights and four matches, she’s gonna prove that she is “the top wrestler in Rose City Wrestling today!” Especially since there’s no tag partners to take the blame this time...
And the Crystal Ballroom is where it’ll all happen!
Because Annie is coming for a fight this weekend, and she’s “not leaving with that trophy, and that title around my waist.” she states, before throwing up the devil horns and pulling a #grrface for the camera, as the scene comes to an end.

Angelica Vaughn def. Momoko Honda (SSS) at 08:57 via FG Kick
This match got the tournament off with a rocket quick pace, as both ladies would try and go for an early victory, as to try and save their energy for tomorrow’s matches.
Angie’s offense had a bit more power behind it this time, as she was able to effectively use her kicks to wear down Momo, until she was able to hit her Field Goal kick, and advance to night two!
Izzy Van Doren def. Emevlas Stastias at 13:44 via Coral Fang
The bad blood between Izzy and Mevy flared up again early on, as Mevy’s confidence was on full display tonight. Any time she got one up on the IJWF champion, she would gloat about how she will win the tournament, and be a “better champion” than Izzy.
The match quickly broke down, and soon the two women began brawling along the outside, until both were nearly counted out.
Izzy was able to hit her headlock driver, seemingly out of nowhere, but instead of pinning mevy, she immediately transitioned into the Coral Fang, and the referee stopped the matchup, when Mevy was no longer responding to his calls to defend herself.
Nora Foley def. Kiki Kumiko (LAW) at 10:14 via Andraste’s Hammer
A slow brooding pace, was able to be obtained by Nora early on, as she controlled the early offense with strong, powerful throws to Kumiko all around the ringside area. Kumiko was finally able to impliment some strong strikes into the matchup, but it may have been too little, too late, as Nora was able to twirl Kiki around, effortlessly, and pick up the win, to advance in the tournament.
Q def. Emi Hirota at 12:44 via surprise roll up
Q proved herself to be very game competition for the Fourth Queen as she used her power to neutrailze Emi’s offense early on, and establish early control. Q went for a quick Exploder suplex, but Emi was able to land on her feet and took control of the match, with her technique and grace, until Q reversed a over the shoulder throw, into a rollup attempt and pick up the win, wit the Artemis Champion pulling off an early candidate for “Upset of the Tournament.”
Intermission
The crowd was able to donate to the Blaise Fader injury fund during intermission, and this had by far the longest line, of any merch sales during the show. Early totals indicate around $2500 raised to help the LMMC2 Winner with medical bills, after her recent injury.
As the crowd returned to their seats, Stacy DeVille came back out to the ring and spoke briefly to the crowd, once again thanking them for donating to the fund, and attending the show.
Stacy: “I do have one more quick announcement, before we get back into the swing of things. As many of you are aware, our hiatus took place during the time that would be our second year anniversary, and to be honest, that really fucking sucks… But… I have found a way to make up for it.
Our third year anniversary show, is set. August 16th, 2020. Tickets will be on sale for season ticket holders Tuesday morning, and the general population will see them go live on December 1st.
Anyways… Year Three of Rose City wrestling, will begin live… at Providence Park!”

The crowd erupts into cheers at the announcement, as a graphic comes onto the video screen, confirming Stacy’s announcement.
After Intermission
The show transitions to the sight of Lowri Moss stood somewhere backstage at the Crystal Ballroom. Ahead of her upcoming match in the first round of the tournament, Lowri is dressed in her ring attire, together with a backwards snapback, and an Irish Whip Clothing branded Wrestling, Innit? t-shirt.
Lowri Moss: What’s occurring, Rose City?
That cry from Lowri is followed by her giving a smile to the camera.
Lowri Moss: I don’t think it’s too much of a stretch to say that this weekend… these two shows, today and tomorrow… this is what everyone associated with Rose City Wrestling has been waiting for since the moment three and a bit months ago that it was announced that Rose City would be returning. The Lilith Morgan Memorial Cup is certainly something that I have been looking forward to being involved in, both for sentimental reasons and because of what’s at stake, and as I stand here now, I’m just itching to get out to the ring, so that I can get my opening match of the tournament underway.
Lowri’s smile broadens slightly, as she continues.
Lowri Moss: Two years ago, the inaugural Lilith Morgan Memorial Cup was where I made my debut for Rose City Wrestling. At the time, I was a little over twelve months into my wrestling career, still finding my way in the sport, and entering the tournament was a way for me to gain more experience, as well as more exposure. I went on to reach the semi-finals, and while I obviously would’ve liked to have won the tournament, I was still satisfied with my run to the final four, which included a win in the quarterfinals against the woman who would go on to become the second Queen of Roses - although I won’t mention her my name, seeing as she’s pretty much persona non grata these days.
She gives a wink to the camera.
Lowri Moss: Prior to my appearance in that tournament, I’m not sure how many of the Rose City fans were familiar with me-- but by the time I was eliminated, they were chanting “please come back.” And of course, in May of last year, I did indeed come back. Unfortunately though, six months later, I was unable to be part of the second LMMC, as night one of the tournament clashed with a show elsewhere that I was needed for. However, I was able to be in attendance for night two, and while I may have missed out on being in the tournament myself, I did at least get to be there in person to watch as it was won by one of my best friends, Blaise Fader.
With a sigh, Lowri pauses for a moment, thinking about her stricken friend.
Lowri Moss: Now though, as the third Lilith Morgan Memorial Cup gets going, I’m very much a part of it, and I’ve got my sights set on claiming the prize that awaits the winner. When I agreed to return to Rose City, back at the beginning of August, I did so with a very clear goal in mind: the Queen of Roses.
She pauses again to take a breath.
Lowri Moss: I’m not interested in either the Macaria title or the Artemis title. And that isn’t meant to sound disrespectful to those titles, or the women that have held them, like my opponent tonight in the first round, Chance Kennedy, or the current Artemis Champion, Q - it’s clear to see how proud Q is to be the Artemis Champion, and I know that Chance was proud to hold that title as well. And rightfully so. But neither that or the Macaria title are what I’m here for.
She gives a shake of her head.
Lowri Moss: As for the tag titles, if certain things were different, then perhaps I might be interested in those - the memory of how my time as one half of the Rose City Tag Team Champions came to an end still rankles with me a little, so if I had one of my partners with me, maybe I would fancy another crack at those belts. But Lexi isn’t here, neither of course is Blaise, and Neal is never likely to be here as anything more than just a spectator, all of which means that my focus in Rose City Wrestling is solely on winning the Queen of Roses.
The briefest of pauses follows.
Lowri Moss: I’ve won multiple secondary championships. I’ve won multiple tag titles— in Rose City and elsewhere. I’ve even won multiple tournaments. One thing I have yet to accomplish though, is that I have never won a promotion’s top championship, and that’s something I intend to change come the end of tomorrow night. Up to now in my career, I’ve only had two opportunities to win a top title. The first one was against a champion who I had already beaten in a non-title match, and when we met again, with his title on the line, he needed assistance from his valet to ensure that he kept hold of his belt. The second opportunity I had to win a top title came more recently, in an elimination chamber match, and well… no one should need me to tell them how unpredictable and chaotic they can be.
While she does not explicitly say so, it is clear that Lowri’s first time inside an elimination chamber did not conclude with her having a victory [and a new championship] to her name.
Lowri Moss: But stood here now, I’m confident that it’ll be third time lucky. If I’m to make that happen, I know I’ll have to win four matches over the course of today and tomorrow, but so will everyone else in the tournament, and there isn’t a woman in this thing that I don’t think I can’t beat. Whoever I’m going to be in the ring with, no matter how quick they are, how strong they are, or how experienced they are, I fully believe that I can beat them all, and that ultimately, I will be the last one still standing.
Lowri rubs her chin, but only for a second or two. She then runs her hand through her hair, before continuing.
Lowri Moss: As I mentioned a minute or two ago, my opponent tonight in the first round is Chance Kennedy. Like I said, she is a former Artemis Champion, and she has already shown that she has the potential to be a future Queen of Roses, having defeated the then-Queen, Sloane Weber, in a non-title match back in January, at the IJWF’s Collision Course event. And maybe someday she will go on to become the Queen of Roses— tomorrow isn’t going to be that day though. I know she’ll give everything she has, and that it’ll be a tough match - I expect nothing less - but for Chance, her involvement in the third Lilith Morgan Memorial Cup is going to both begin and end tonight.
There is a shrug of the shoulders from Lowri. It is almost as if she feels that there is a certain inevitability about the outcome of her match tonight.
Lowri Moss: Looking at the draw for the first round in full, I think it’s fair to say that the lineup is pretty stacked, and whoever I go on to face after tonight, things definitely aren’t going to get any easier. If I had my choice though, there are a few people in particular that I would like to face. There’s my friend-turned-enemy-now-friend again, Annie Zellor, who I’ve never yet wrestled one-on-one; Emi Hirota, who I’ve wrestled multiple times, and have yet to beat - it’s about time I put that right; Izzy van Doren, who I went to a time limit draw with in the main event of the last show - we need to finish what we started. And after what happened following that match with Izzy two weeks ago, I also kinda want to have a match with Kristina Von Doom. But whoever I end up facing, in the quarterfinals and beyond, I’m confident that the outcome will be the same.
She takes a couple of steps towards the camera.
Lowri Moss: Each of the three previous tournaments in Rose City Wrestling that I’ve competed in - the first Lilith Morgan Memorial Cup, the Rose City Grand Prix, and the She-1 Summit - I’ve lost to the eventual winner. It’s time for me to change that. I was already aiming to emulate what Blaise did last year, by winning the LMMC, and the devastating injury that she suffered the other week has only served to motivate me further. I’m going to win the LMMC, and in the process, I’m going to become the new Queen of Roses.
Lowri utters three words in Welsh that fans of hers will have been accustomed to hearing.
Lowri Moss: Trên. Ymladd. Ennill.
She then repeats the words, but this time in English.
Lowri Moss: Train. Fight. Win.
And while Lowri stares confidently towards the camera, the show returns to ringside.

And while Lowri stares confidently towards the camera, the show returns to ringside.
Kristina von Doom def. Sloane Weber at 15:37 via the Catastrophe
Both women show each other plenty of respect for each other early on, as neither woman can come away with the early advantage. The crowd cheers Sloane on during the matchup, and the change in tone towards Kristina seems to irritate her, and she takes out her pride, on Sloane, as the respectful nature of the match early on, changes, and KVD becomes much more aggressive in her offense, and this turns out to be the difference, as Kristina, with her brute strength, takes control, and eventually puts Sloane away, to advance to the quarterfinal!
Annie Zellor def. Azumi Goto (JET) at 13:31 via Kindness
Annie Zellor stood toe to toe with Azumi Goto from bell to bell, and didn’t crack once under the pressure. Although Mary Jane was at ringside for the match, she kept herself to strictly managerial duty, as Annie and Azumi had many back and forth exchanges, until the match came down Annie, reversing a hurricanrana attempt into her “kindness” move. And she was able to put the Joshi legend down for the evening, and pick up the win, silencing many of her doubters in the process!
Ashley Cross def. Azurine Vebbins at 10:44 via Limit Break
The crowd came alive again, once Ashley and Azzy were in the ring, as both women have seen a surge in popularity in recent times. Ashley was looking to keep the tempo up throughout the contest, and sneak away with an early victory, but plans changed once Azzy locked in a tight Boston Crab, and it appeared that Ash would be forced to tap out, but Cross was able to reach the bottom rope and save the match for herself.
The submission hold seemed to damage Ash’s back, but also drain nearly all of Azzy’s remaining stamina, as she had a much harder time keeping up with Ashley’s pace, until eventually, it just became too much, and Ashley was able to lock in her “Limit Break” submission, and Azzy tapped once, before the referee ruled the match off, and declared Cross the winner!
Lowri Moss def. Chance Kennedy at 19:45 via Nos Da
An instant classic between two women, who have become Rose City staples, as Lowri and Chance receive some of the loudest cheers throughout the night, from the crowd.
Both women work a slow and methodical place early on, with neither woman able to plant themselves as the dominant athlete early on, with many stalemates coming, after both women initiate contact, numerous times.
A suicide dive from Chance turns the tides in her favor early on however, and she nearly puts Lowri away, with a face smasher across her knee, but right before the referee can count to three, Lowri is able to kick out, just in the nick of time!
Chance tries to finish off Lowri with a small package driver, but Lowri is able to reverse the hold, into a small package pin attempt of her own, which only garners herself a two count, but Moss is able to take advantage of the confusion, and pop right back up and hit a superkick, directly to Chance’s jaw, and roll into a “Nos Da” and pick up a very hard fought win!
Post Match:
Lowri and Chance take a moment to collect themselves, and then shake hands. Chance raises Lowri’s arm up as the victor. While this happens, Stacy DeVille comes back into the ring, and shakes both women’s hands, and asks for a microphone.
Stacy: “Chance, that was an amazing effort. I expect nothing less from a former Artemis Champion, and you deliver so much more than expected. Thank you!”
The crowd cheers for Chance as she leaves the ring. Stacy then asks for the remaining participants to come to the ring, as she is going to announce the quarter final matchups for tomorrow.
Izzy Van Doren, with the IJWF Championship over her shoulder is the first to emerge, followed by Ashley Cross, with Artemis Champion, Q, right behind her.
Kristina von Doom comes out by herself, and then Angelica Vaughn is followed closely behind by Annie Zellor, and the two women exchange words at ringside, before heading into the ring, without coming to blows.
Finally, Nora Foley walks into the ring, met with cheers from the crowd. The eight ladies all take their place in certain areas in the ring, before Stacy calls out the quarterfinal matchups.
Stacy: “First off, we will begin with a rematch from Chapter 36. Lowri Moss will take on Izzy Van Doren!”
The crowd erupts at the announcement, as the two women come to center ring, and square off. Neither woman speaks as the two stare each other down.
Stacy: “Second. Annie Zellor… You will be facing… Ashley Cross!”
Ashley comes to center ring, stoic and unmoving as Annie chews her gum in Ashley’s face and smiles.
Stacy: “Third! The Artemis Champion, Q, will face the fifth Queen of Roses: Angelica Vaughn!”
Q comes to center ring and begins to mouth off to Angie, and holds up her Artemis title, while motioning that the Queen of Roses belt will be hers as well. Angie smiles, as she towers over Q.
Stacy: “And finally, a rematch many people have been asking for, as Kristina von Doom, will face off with Nora Foley!”
The two titans stare each other down, intensely as the crowd pops over the announcement, with both women staring into each other’s eyes, neither moves an inch, and the screen fades to black.
