OPENING CONTEST
SINGLES MATCH
Kaho Sugiyama vs. Paisley
This match begins on a disrespectful note as Paisley refuses to shake the hand of Sugiyama, saying that, "She needs to wash her hands first." Kaho shrugs off the mind game, and it's present from the opening sequence of the match that she's locked in. The beginning shows Kaho breaking out of the gate and punishing Paisley with a series of crisp strikes. Kaho picks up a head of steam early on as the fans are slowly getting behind the Sakura and Rose City wrestling ambassador. However, Paisley was able to cut Kaho off, catching her unprepared with a lunging headbutt that knocks Sugiyama onto the mat.
It's Paisley's turn to get some offense in, as she shows that she as well is no slouch when it comes to precision striking. Paisley targets the center of Kaho's back with a few rounds of shoot kicks that pop gruesomely for all to hear inside of Pier 70. The filthy little animal follows up on her strikes by driving and grinding her knee into the back of Kaho. This is something new as Paisley isn't the most technically savvy worker. Kaho is able to use her advantage on the ground game to wrench herself free of Paisley's submission attempt and flow into one of her own. Kaho traps the extended leg of Paisley and looks to work in a knee bar, before Paisley frantically boots Kaho right in the mouth.
We see a bit of blood trickling from Sugiyama's lip, but not for long as Paisley kips up to her feet and drills Kaho in the face with a super kick! Paisley goes to make the lazy cover. However, Kaho plays opossum well as she traps one of Paisley's arms looking for the position to apply a grounded triangle over the neck of Paisley. The crowd rises as it looks like Kaho is going to lock in the move. However, Paisley is able to slowly carry them both towards the apron. Getting Kaho's face right under the bottom rope, Paisley falls back springing Kaho's neck right into the ring rope.
There's no pin attempt just yet as Paisley falls back to catch her breath and work out the pain in her arm. Kaho looks to be choking after having her neck caught up in the ropes. She rolls out of the ring kneeling over trying to catch her breath. However, the crowd is on their feet and cheering in anticipation as Paisley is back on her feet and making a beeline toward the ropes. She wows the crowd with an acrobatic forward roll using the top rope for balance as she cannonballs out of the ring and right into Sugiyama on the outside. The two slowly get to their feet and exchange a volley of chops on the outside. Kaho starts to get the better hand of Paisley. One thunderous slap across the broadside of Paisley's face sends her stumbling back. Kaho quickly hops to the ring apron and sprints towards Paisley before knocking her against the face with a Glowing Strike! Shining Wizard!
Paisley looks out of there as she folds coldly on the outside of the ring. Kaho is frantic, quickly getting Paisley up and rolling her into the ring. Paisley slowly begins to stir in the ring as the crowd is surging behind Sugiyama as she waits for Paisley to get to her feet. Once she gets to her feet Kaho excels over the top, spring boarding into a Warui Hōkō Ni Mawasu! But the move falls right into the Superkick from Paisley! The counter stuns the crowd as she falls on top of Kaho for the pin attempt.
The crowd is going crazy for the resiliency of Kaho! Paisley merely shakes her head in disbelief before slowly pulling herself and Sugiyama back to their feet. Kaho quickly takes advantage slipping behind Paisley and planting her with a lightning fast German Suplex! Kaho's not done as she's quickly back on Paisley! She lifts her back once again with an Exploder Suplex! The last suplex has the Bay Area fans on their feet. Paisley slowly rocks to a seated position but her face is quickly met with a low super kick from Kaho! Paisley looks completely spent as Kaho rears back. The sound of the venue comes to a loud crescendo as Kaho executes her running penalty kick! Heiwa Wa Arimasen! Kaho makes the strong cover!
The match comes to an end and Kaho looks winded in the ring. She takes a few deep breaths before getting to her feet. She makes a bow in the ring as the gong declares her as the victor in the match. She gets a rousing ovation from the Sakura Pro fans as she makes her way up the ramp.
